Job Description:

• Job Title : Lab Technician
• Job Type : Contract
• Job Location : Houston, TX, USA 
• Selected candidate will be working in a high throughput testing lab performing Wet Chemistry & Physical Testing procedures on hydrocarbon samples. 
• Most of the testing involves filtrations and extractions of solids from hydrocarbon samples. 
• High accuracy and attention to detail is required. 
• The individual must be comfortable performing set routine tasks in an established time frame as well as working on independent projects requiring detailed reporting and observations. 
• The individual filling this position should have good organizational and time management skills. 
• The candidate must be proficient in general laboratory techniques, be able to follow and comply with ASTM methods and Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and have experience in performing a variety of test methods utilizing both wet chemical and physical testing methods. 
• The individual should also have hands on experience with basic laboratory equipment such as balances, titration equipment, filtration equipment, Bunsen burners and centrifuges. 
• The individual should be comfortable working with flammable materials and must have an understanding of proper chemical handling, hygiene, use, storage and disposal. 
• The position requires a significant portion of the day to be on your feet moving from lab to lab. 
• The individual must be able to work independently and interact with team members on a regular basis both written and verbally. 
• The individual should have the ability to interpret documents such as safety operating procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety data sheets. 
• The individual must be proficient and comfortable working with a variety of software systems for instrument control and reporting of results and well as with Microsoft word, and Excel.
